Amélie Dendal's touch deserves a particular mention, and not only her touch but also the way she plays music: with softness and pure love. It makes her play very personal but still fitting the vision of the different composers.

About

Born in Calcutta (India), Amélie Dendal is a belgian pianist. She began to study piano at the age of four. At age six, she won the first prize of the Grand Concours International de Piano in Paris and has since then received recognition at several national and international competitions.

 

Amelie has performed recitals in Belgium, France, Luxemburg, Italy, Germany and the United States. Amelie has been invited by numerous renowned music festivals such as the Euroclassical festival, the Nocturnes of the Cathedrale de Rouen festival, the International des Minimes and International Saint-Boromee festivals in 2014, PianoFest Sint-Niklaas, Musicorum,... In January 2019, she was invited to play at the national commemorations of the Shoah in Luxemburg, performing Olivier Messiaën’s Quatuor pour la Fin des Temps.

 

In addition to being an active chamber musician, Ms. Dendal has performed as a soloist with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie, the Ataneres Ochestra and was invited by the Orchestra of the Royal Conservatory to perform several times with the Swiss conductor Daniel Klajner.

 

Amélie Dendal studied with Dr. Daniel Blumenthal at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Brussels, earning her Master’s Degree and the prizes “Frison” and first prize “Ollin” for her outstanding results from the Belgian Government.

She also attented the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she received the award of excellence. Amélie Dendal has also studied in New York with Martin Canin (The Juilliard School) and with Bernd Goetzke (Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hanover).
